In late 2012 it was decided to build a new boat to handle the regular ferry connection to Mykines for Strandferðslan. The new boat has also made it possible to provide tours around the islands, by requests.
The boat is of the type Sigur and is built in Iceland in 2013. It is 13 meters long and 5.3 meters across. The engine is a Volvo penta with a maximum speed of 22 knots.
